Now retired, Carol Coles currently lives in Frisco, Texas, with her husband, David. They have four children and eight grandchildren -all residing in different parts of the country.
Having been busy with her family and a 37-year career as a Department of the Air Force civilian, Carol discovered the joy of painting rather late in life. She began painting while living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, taking instruction from a local artist. After moving to Brandon, Mississippi in 2005, she continued to paint, and to take instruction, favoring oils, but also dabbling in colored pencil work. She now enjoys Wednesday afternoons painting with friends and fellow artists of the Frisco Lakes Art Group.
Carol was born in Oxford, England, and, as an Air Force dependent, traveled extensively. Her assignments included Germany, England and Okinawa, as well as several locations in the U.S. She holds a MEd in Adult & Continuing Education, a BS in Psychology, both from the University of Southern Mississippi, and an AA in Personnel Management from the University of Maryland. She is also a graduate of Air Command and Staff College.
